Many thanks to the team SHOKUDO YArn for an amazing dinner! We were traveling Komatsu and Kanazawa and our plan changed due to unexpected circumstances. We had to find a new dinner plan and SHOKUDO YArn came up. At first we were going to pass due to the price but soon we just booked as we became curious about what this restaurant offers. Our choice turned out to be a great one and here is why. First of all, the creativity that we saw and tasted in each dish was above and beyond our expectations. We were literally clapping at every other dish. Second, the chef pays much attention to details. Every single dish even a wooden spoon was branded and everything on the dish was carefully placed as it was calculated. We could take photos of only 3 dishes; but honestly, even if someone looks at the photo it is only a fraction of the experience. Also, I don’t think other restaurants can easily copy the dish as the taste does not come from the decorations; it comes from selecting the right ingredients and right portions, cooking times and etc. Obviously this restaurant spends a lot of time in R&D and it creates a once in a lifetime dining experience. We were truly impressed and touched by the chef’s passion. We hope more people can experience and appreciate. At the end the course, I had a small cup of herb tea and the aroma and taste of tea made the perfect ending. Full of pleasant surprises! Thank you so much. It was a great way to end our vacation. Hope we can visit again!

Incredibly fun and whimsical meal that maintains consistent quality and exceptional flavors throughout! Easy to book on their website. It’s not hard to spend this much and more on tasting menus in Japan, especially in the big cities, and we did so in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka, but this was our favorite meal of our trip!

in a quiet suburb, a restored building from ex yarn factory. the space is incredible with semi open kitchen. marvellous set course with lunch course during weekend. the deconstructed sukiyaki is quite an experience with dashi soup bursting from steak, not a easy task. The others are playful but not too over with the basic of food, the taste come first.
